Your District. Your AI.
Beni helps districts build the AI foundation that works for everyone in their district. Getting your whole school aligned on AI is hard. We make it simple.
We understand how overwhelming this moment is for school leaders
AI tools are showing up in classrooms faster than policies can keep up. There are no consistent rules across a district, tools are being used differently in every school, and the applications to manage any of it barely exist. For superintendents and district leaders, the pressure to get this right is enormous, and the path forward is anything but clear.
How Beni Started
Beni began with a question in a UC San Diego classroom. While taking an AI Industries course, Sam Schellenberg was asked how the growing AI crisis in education could be solved. Rather than treat it as a theoretical problem, he brought the challenge home to his father, Greg Schellenberg, principal of Malibu Middle School and former superintendent and teacher.
Together they began mapping what schools actually needed: a governed AI workspace for students, clear oversight for teachers, and policy-aligned infrastructure for districts. To turn the idea into a real platform, they partnered with Jenna Menking, who helped bring the vision to life. The platform they created became Beni, a name that honors the Schellenberg family's long commitment to education, including the founding legacy behind the Sabin-Schellenberg School.
How Beni Works
AI is shaping education right now, and districts that lead the way will define what it looks like for their students
With Beni, superintendents and school boards have a clear governance framework. Teachers feel supported and confident. Students gain the skills and responsibility to thrive in a world shaped by artificial intelligence. Instead of reacting to AI, your district leads the way.
