Know Your School's AI Policy
Your school uses Policy Cards to set clear rules about how AI can be used in each class. Here is what that means for you.
Policy Cards
Clear rules for every assignment · Set by your teacher
Your Workspace
AI tools with guardrails · Always transparent
What's Allowed
Each assignment comes with a Policy Card that tells you exactly which AI tools you can use and how. Some assignments allow full AI assistance for brainstorming, while others restrict it to grammar checks only. Always read the card before starting.
What's Not Allowed
Submitting AI-generated work as your own is never allowed. Copying and pasting from AI without adding your own thinking, analysis, and voice crosses the line. If a Policy Card says "no AI," that means the entire assignment should be your work.
How It's Enforced
Beni tracks AI usage transparently. Your teachers can see how and when AI was used on an assignment. This is not about catching you—it is about making sure everyone follows the same rules and gets credit for their own learning.
When You're Unsure
If a Policy Card is unclear, ask your teacher before using AI. It is always better to check than to guess. Your teacher sets the policy, and they are the best person to clarify how AI fits into their class.
Tips for Responsible AI Use
AI can be a powerful learning partner when used the right way. Here are six practices that will help you get the most from AI while keeping your work honest.
01
Always Cite AI
If you used an AI tool to help with your work, say so. Mention the tool, what you used it for, and how it influenced your final product. Transparency builds trust.
02
Don't Copy and Paste
AI-generated text is a starting point, not a finished product. Read it, think about it, rewrite it in your own words, and add your own analysis and perspective.
03
Use AI as a Tool, Not a Crutch
AI should help you think harder, not replace your thinking. Use it to brainstorm, check your understanding, or explore a topic—then do the real work yourself.
04
Verify the Facts
AI can be wrong. Always fact-check important claims, statistics, and sources against reliable references. Trusting AI blindly can lead to errors in your work.
05
Read the Policy Card
Before starting any assignment, check the Policy Card attached to it. It tells you what AI tools are permitted and what level of assistance is allowed for that specific task.
06
Ask When Unsure
If you are not sure whether something counts as responsible AI use, ask your teacher. There are no bad questions when it comes to academic integrity.
